Why is stuff banned in school?

Why are CD's DVD's and the like banned in schools? I mean, people who really want to bring something can get anything in, despite all the bag-checking as you enter and the random class checks.

What's the big issue? I mean, in school, it's just a piece of plastic for crying out loud! What harm could it do? Are there any teachers or principals reading this? If so, PLEASE, provide an answer. Is it just your duty to make our few years of fun as miserable as possible? Is there some separate bag search class in teacher training school or wherever? I can just imagine, "Get those pockets! Make sure you check the lunch!"... Is it and issue of national security? If so, pardon me because I didn't know a cheese sandwich could cause genocide, or maybe it was the plague carried in the cologne spray.

Another thing : correction fluid, or commonly know as TippEx. What the hell? Why is this harmless article of great correctional value not allowed? Maybe they're an endangered species... Or maybe it's just a conspiracy by the Teachers Guild to take over the world and correctional fluid is their only weakness! Hah! See if I'm ever entering school without my trusty tipex in my sock again!

By the way, being the totally cool person I am, ;-), I can get practically anything into school, and being in the 13th grade really helps!

Believe it or not books was banned too the same way some time back. I mean books outside the school books. That happened two generation back, mostly when those old teachers was students. After books, there was TV. Student didn’t take TV to the school, but TV had a bad name in home. Then come the internet and digital age. Now it is banned. Now all the sudden, reading books is ok, watching TV is ok and computer is utter evil

CD DVDs are not nessasary in schools, some student use them to share Blue films, songs, movies, which could reduce concentration on studies,so banning them is a good thing.

Haha believe me, a few years after you've left school you start seeing things with a different perspective. But I know where you're coming from. It used to be bloody frustrating. Then again it was all part of the fun as well. Cell phones used to be hidden in all sorts of obscene places which the prefects never dared to check. Lol.

CDs and DVDs are banned just to stop the circulation of porn and also to minimize the distractions at school. Tipex was banned for us for the mere reason that it was not allowed at OL's and AL's and then if we were to use it at school then at exams it'd have been difficult to do without tipex.

Rules are annoying but come on, that kick you get out of breaking them is as far as fun goes during school hours.

Yes. I suppose it IS fun... I, too have discovered many a loose floorboard and piles of junk which never seem to get moved.

But CD's and DVD's distracting?
Come on...

dude i am from ya school. left school in 2006. its all banned for no real reason... but its fun when its banned. i am guessing that the new rector is banning more and more stuff everyday? :P haha... have fun dude... ahhhrrrr... i miss the good old days :(

btw: if you wanna get stuff in and out, get friendly with some prefects or better... teachers! :D you know when we was in year nine we had this teacher who helped us hide stuff when prefects came in to search for em... hehe..

when it was out last year at thee school... we was having less and less rules... we always had some music/video playing(using mobiles...)... people watched porn through GPRS inside the classroom! :) ... and it was cool.. i mean doing it while you know you can get caught is the most fun part of it all...

Surely you repressed conservatives would do better lambasting the content rather than the medium. How about .avi's or torrent files on memory sticks (they are small and easily concealled). Ha Ha get round that one idiots......

Greetings fellow Joe!
anyway, I already know all the prefects. They're not a problem. Only a math teacher... Maybe you know him. Calls everyone "bull" ? But even he can be duped with flash drives!
I praise whoever invented these little wonders of CMOS memory!
